Dr. Simon Candelaresi is involved in research and development of numerical methods. He is working on the parallelization of coupled multi-physics and multi-solver methods for computational fluid mechanics and magnetohydrodynamics. For this he is developing methods for the Julia code Trixi.jl.

Simon Candelaresi trained as a physicist and has worked in astrophysics, particularly in magnetic fields in plasmas. In this work he used and developed simulation packages running on HPC systems, including systems using GPUs.
