SUMMARY:A Vision of Quantum-Centric Supercomputing
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nMax Rossmannek, Antonio Corcoles, Iskandar Si
tdikov, Daniel Egger, and Kate Marshall (IBM Research)\n\nQuantum computin
g systems continue to scale in size and quality. Furthermore, error\nresil
ience approaches start to enable interesting computational regimes opening
what\nwe call the era of quantum utility. In this era, the integration of
quantum with HPC\nbecomes critical to unlock the full potential of both t
echnologies in a way that exceeds\nthe capabilities of either one alone. O
ur vision for the path forward is quantum-centric\nsupercomputing: quantum
algorithms and routines supported by multiple quantum\ncircuits with the
aid of classical pre- and post-processing and classical high-performance\n
elements.\nThe development of tightly integrated systems with quantum and
classical elements is\nessential for this vision. Not only will they provi
de an invaluable development framework\nfor computational scientists, both
quantum and classical, but they will also provide a\ntesting ground for t
he joint optimization of classical and quantum resources needed to\nrun ut
ility scale hybrid workflows.\nGiven the fast development of quantum techn
ologies, we believe now is the time to\nbridge the gap between classical a
nd quantum computing to define and shape a new\nera of supercomputing.\n\n
